Why...are we to do it: (1st John 3:18, 23...Love.., see below)
Christ...the embodiment of the Word/Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God...the embodiment of the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God on earth...the embodiment of Christianity.
(1st John 3:1a,2-3,8b,5,10a,14,17-18,23-24 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed
upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be [in the
Kingdom of Heaven]: but we know that, when HE [the Spirit of God] shall appear, we [our
spirit/soul] shall be like HIM [as in: (Gen. 1:26a...Let us make [the spirit/soul of] man in our [Spirit]
image, after our [Spirit] likeness:)]; for we shall see HIM [in the Kingdom of Heaven] as HE is.
3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself [spirit/soul and body], even as he
[Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit] is pure.
8b] For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he [Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit] might
destroy the works of the devil.
5] And ye know that he [Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit] was manifested to take away our sins; and in
him is no sin. 6a] Whosoever abideth in him [in His Kingdom here on earth] sinneth not:
10a] In this the children of [the Spirit of] God are MANIFEST, and [by CONTRAST] the children
of the [the spirit of Satan] devil:
14] We know that we have passed from death unto life [in the Spirit of God], because we love the
brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death [to the Spirit of God].
17] But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels
[heart/soul] of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18] My little children, let us not [only] love in word, neither in tongue; but [also] in deed and in
truth.
23] And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and
love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24] And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know
that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.)
